As I promised, I wanted to continue exploring the way in which the inspiring, entrepreneurial women in my life lead their businesses. Admittedly, I have been running around London like a madman lately, feeling ever so slightly (read: extremely) overwhelmed by my pursuits, the eternal to do list and my schedule. When I get to this place, I find looking to certain quotes and people helps drive me to push harder, refocus and re-think what busy might even look like… enter: Alyce Tran.
Alyce Tran is the extraordinary woman behind the insta brand success that is The Daily Edited. In fact, so successful is her brand that there is a 78% chance that you are currently reading this post with a TDE phone case on the back of your phone or a TDE clutch on your desk. The hardest working woman in the business, she gets things done IMMEDIATELY… so we sat down to chat productivity and inspiration.
I hope these insights help you as they continue to help me and I hope you also appreciate the colour [Pucci for The Outnet] I’m rocking in celebration of the best London Summer… well, ever. xHermione.
Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it – Alyce Tran, the busiest and yet most efficient woman I know… so it’s true what they say, if you want something done, give it to the busiest person you know.
“You’ll make a difference in the world but not immediately. Your first obligation is to find something you like doing, because if you like doing it, you’ll do it well” – Condoleezza Rice who wakes religiously at 4.30AM to exercise before she even begins a day… priorities, right?!
How do you start your work day?
With a coffee in hand, flicking through Instagram and all the emails I’ve missed overnight! I wish it was more zen, like a walk along the beach followed by a green juice (haha).
Top tip for productivity in your day to day life?
Answering emails in blocks rather than as they come in as this can be quite disruptive, it’s hard when you’re addicted to your phone (yes, that’s me).
Advice to young women wanting to go out on their own?
Don’t do anything expecting massive success, do something because you want to give it a go and have the attitude that if it works out then that’s great!
How do you stay motivated?
The fear of failure keeps me motivated, I am effectively now in my dream job and I never want this to end so as a result I am motivated to keep TDE growing and growing.
How often do you review your existing and create new goals?
Every day! Every day the business shifts and changes slightly so I am constantly evaluating where we are going and how to get there
How did you decide this was the project worth pouring yourself into?
I just love the product we make and when the business started growing and making sense financially it was just logical for me to give it my all!
Who inspires you?
I am often fuelled by other successful women, if she can, I can right?! On a creative level I spend a fair bit of time browsing the internet, in particular I love trawling tumblrs, websites (interior design, design, other general fashion sites) and being inspired by colours and styles presented on these channels.
