I am spell bound by Lake Como. A combination of A) my long-standing love affair with Italy, B) the bursting anticipation I was feeling for this particular trip and C) all the advice I had been given from many of you (THANK YOU) made this experience the very best it could be. My second trip to Como, I have to admit I hadn’t remembered the beauty and magic it holds.
I love being by the water and the typical Italian flair and personality shines through. Our experience at Isola Comacina, a famous restaurant on an Island where the five course meal hasn’t changed since 1947 was the absolute stand out experience (I will follow up with a dedicated post). Hitting the water by boat is crucial and there are ways to do it without spending a fortune. Following restaurant recommendations will also really help because there are certainly options that stand out above others.
We were fortunate to be in Italy for a close friend’s wedding which was at Villa D’Este. It was spectacular, as I am sure you can imagine. I’ve included some pictures from the day, below. Many of you have asked where the full length black dress I was wearing is from… I didn’t have a dress and bought a cheap one on ASOS at the last minute, I’ve included the details below if you like it – I felt a million dollars.
I wanted to share this experience with you as quickly as I could! This is a MUST visit destination. Please add Lake Como to your itinerary for any Italian travel plans, four days would be best. I hope you love it as much as I do! Finally, thank you to Lisa and Chez for such a beautiful weekend.. One last Aperol Spritz toast to a lifetime of happiness xxH
