Famous for it’s extraordinary meeting of Europe and Asia, Istanbul merges East and West in a blur of extraordinary urban sprawl, highlighted with breathtaking Mosques and Temples. Catering to every traveller, the city offers world class gastronomic experiences, unmatched textiles and homewares, dense history and of course, famous hammam and spa experiences.
I loved splitting my day between buzzy mornings at electric tourist sites and bazaars, before indulging in long lunches and afternoon’s at the hammam and lazing by the rooftop pool at the new Soho House. What more could one wish for? I would recommend Istanbul for a minimum of 2-3 nights and as the perfect long weekend retreat, or as the ideal metropolitan break between extended European summer holidays. I hope you can follow in some of my foot steps with my Istanbul: In Detail Guide, below. xHermione.
