Bo Kaap is almost a perfect metaphor to represent today’s Cape Town. Vibrant, eclectic and full of personality, the pop coloured houses portray both the new and old worlds.. a famous attraction dotted with happy, smiling and welcoming locals, the area is also steeped in deep history.
Formerly known as the Malay quarter, Bo Kaap is home to distinctively pastel painted houses and cobble stoned streets on the slopes of Signal Hill.
Due to gentrification and the demise of apartheid, Bo Kaap is now a highly sought after area by young people and the wealthy, as they seek to snatch up homes in the sought after area.
Visit for the touristy shot, the instagrammable walls and to see a cool insight into Cape Town’s residential areas. I loved it!!
